On bathroom remodels, you need to keep in mind how much moisture there is in bathrooms. As such we use cement board where water is in direct contact with walls (shower/tub area), NOT green board. We use green board for the rest of the bathroom walls. We use tile adhesive which is moisture resistant as compared to adhesive for living room or kitchen floors.
